Betty Bartels Landreaux, LCSW, CMC

Betty Landreaux is a native New Orleanian and career Social Worker who has brought her varied health care experience from around the country into our two local companies. She is co-founder and partner of Care Management Solutions since 1991, as well as of Home Care Solutions since 2001.

Betty received her Master’s degree in Social Work in 1980 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in health care. She is a Louisiana Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is a member of the National Academy of Certified Care Managers and the National Association of Social Workers.

Following graduate training, Betty worked as a Social Worker at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) in Houston, Texas, focusing on spinal cord and head injury rehabilitation. She expanded her work in neurological and cardiac disabilities as a hospital social worker, rehabilitation specialist and case manager for persons with cardiac and neurological disabilities. In New Orleans, she was employed with Touro Infirmary and East Jefferson Hospital’s RehabCare Services.

Betty is active in several community and health care agencies, including her long service and past-president position on the Board of Directors of Louisiana Guardianship Services; the Louisiana Geriatrics Society Board of Directors; the local Elderly Protective Services clinical committees and related agency support positions.

Locally, Betty has served as Adjunct Professor with Tulane University’s School of Social Work for 6 years, teaching a graduate course in gerontology. She is a frequent presenter to professional and health care groups on the topics of caring for aging parents, long-term care planning, and Alzheimer’s specialty care management.

On a national level, Betty regularly serves on working committees of our professional association, the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM). She has also assisted in developing the South Central Chapter of NAPGCM, and has chaired two clinical conferences for the chapter.

Betty published an article, “Geriatric Care Management: Practicing an Ethics of Care,” in the GCM Journal, Spring 1997. In December, 2004, Betty’s care management company was presented the Entrepreneur Award by the Louisiana Geriatrics Society.
